Check out our list of the 10 best New Zealand wedding venues for a comprehensive list to save you time on finding your ideal location.
1. Black Barn Vineyard
Vineyards are popular New Zealand wedding venues, but this one might be the best of the best. One of the best features of Black Barn Vineyard is that it’s able to accommodate a variety of different wedding sizes. It has six different spaces to offer.
Black Barn Bistro accommodates up to 110 people. Enter through a walkway surrounded by fig trees to look out over the courtyard that is surrounded by grape vines. Here, you’ll get a great view of Hawke’s Bay.
The underground cellar is a beautiful wine cellar with timber doors, steel beams, and concrete walls. And it’s easy to move the ceremony here in case of unexpected rain. You can also use this beautiful location for unique wedding photos.
For a more intimate wedding, the river room is a perfect choice and can accommodate up to 40 people. It’s located above the Tuki Tuki River and offers an amazing view of Te Mata Peak. However, since it’s located among residential properties, there are strict noise restrictions in place.
Finally, the most versatile destination is right on the bank of the Tuki Tuki River. It can be tailored to fit parties ranging from 50 to 200. This site also offers amazing views of Tuki Tuki River and Te Mata Peak, but note that it’s a rural location, so everything has to be brought in which can be pretty pricey.
2. Cable Bay
Another vineyard option, Cable Bay is known for its award-winning wine, amazing food, and great service. Located on Waiheke Island, this perfect outdoor wedding offers a beautiful lawn with views of the harbor and Auckland’s skyline. Up to 20 chairs can be placed for the ceremony, and for your reception, there are three options depending on the size of your celebration.
The Dining Room has seating for up to 100 or standing room for up to 150 and features large windows offering an amazing view.

If a religion-centric wedding isn’t your thing, don’t fret: you can personalize your wedding with a more modern service. It’s very welcoming to everyone, including same-sex couples.
