Mind, Body, Facebook: How to Create a Facebook Organization Page

Did you know that Facebook has 2.45 billion users who are active on a monthly basis? It’s still the most widely used social media platform, and a marketing opportunity you don’t want to miss out on.

If you’re holding out on creating a Facebook organization page because you don’t know how to, don’t wait any longer. Read on for all the information you need to start your business Facebook page today.

Create Your Facebook Organization Page

Log onto Facebook and go to the create a page section. There are two Facebook page types to choose from, a business or brand page or a community figure page.

After you select the type of page you want to create, you can choose a Facebook page category. This is an opportunity to categorize your business on Facebook.

You also want to make sure to take the opportunity to add as much information as possible about your business. To input your information select “edit page info.”

This is the information you should prepare to add to your page:

  • Facebook will ask for your business contact information, including physical address, email address, and phone number. If you don’t have any address, it’s okay.
  • Make sure to add your business’ website. If you don’t have one, it’s not required to add one.
  • Add your business office hours. Even if you’re closed for “regular” business because of COVID-19, you can still include the hours that you’re typically available to answer clients’ questions.
  • Take advantage of Facebook’s option to add a “more info” section to your business’ page. This is an opportunity to provide a summary of your business and highlight what you’re all about. Include what services you offer or unique details, like why you founded your business.

After you add all your business contact information, it’s important to double-check that your information is accurate and that all your links work. Make sure your website link is working.

Choose Your Profile Picture and Cover Photo Images

You’re going to want to create a new Facebook profile picture for your page. This is the perfect opportunity to add your logo. If you don’t have a high-quality professional logo image, you could consider creating one on the free website called Canva.

Your profile picture is one of the most important things about your business’ Facebook page. It’s the first thing people are going to see. Facebook profiles are small, 180×180 pixels, so you want to make sure to use a clear, high-resolution image.

You’ll also want to make sure you have a good cover page. Cover pages are much larger so you have much more flexibility with these images. You can use a picture or use this space for an ad or a large logo.

Your profile picture and cover page are free advertising. Always take advantage of any free marketing you can get.

Choose Facebook Page Managers

It’s always a good idea to decide who in your business will have access to your Facebook page. You may decide it’ll just be the business owner and a social media manager if you have one. If too many people have access to your page it could get confusing.

Anyone who you want to have access to your page needs to be designated as a page manager. This can be managed under your settings.

Decide on Your Facebook Pages’ Call to Action

One of the best features on a Facebook business page is your ability to choose a “call to action” for people who visit your page. Use this feature wisely.

To utilize the call to action feature, click on “add a button,” which is located underneath your cover photo, on the right-hand side.

If you are a business that books appointments, Facebook users who visit your page can book directly through your Facebook page. You can also use the button to drive traffic directly to your business’ website.

Invite Your Friends to Like Your Page

There is no point in having a Facebook page if no one knows about it. It’ll take time to build up followers, but you can start by inviting your friends to like your page.

When someone likes your page, they’ll get updates when you post. This is the best way to spread the word about your business.

Your friends can also invite friends to like your business page.

Become an Active Facebook User

After you create your Facebook organization page, it’s important to become an active user.

You could go live on Facebook to show off new products, or to have a five-minute information session about your product. You could even host a live workout video.

What’s awesome is you can even download video from Facebook to use at a later time. You could post it on your website or put it on your YouTube channel. Especially during COVID-19, it’s important to stay in contact with your clients via video.

You can also consider running Facebook ads or promotions. Paying for ads on Facebook is relatively inexpensive and you can reach many more users than you typically do when you just post on your page.

Make Your Facebook Business Page Today
