Do you sometimes wish you had a job that got your adrenaline-pumping a little bit more?

While an adrenaline-pumping job may be the dream of some, it’s important to remember that many of these adrenaline-pumping jobs are also quite dangerous. What are these incredibly dangerous jobs?

Check out this guide to learn about the most dangerous jobs in the world that you’ll be glad someone else is doing.

1. Logging Workers

Loggers harvest trees that are then turned into wood for consumer products or construction materials for companies like Surfco Restoration & Construction LLC. The reason logging is so dangerous is because falling objects can hit loggers while they’re felling trees.

They can also experience accidents while operating equipment. To give you a perspective of just how dangerous this job can be, the rate of fatal logging accidents is 28 times higher than the average fatality rate of the total workforce.

2. Fishers and Other Fishing Workers

Most of us think of fishing as a peaceful activity. However, professional fishing is anything but.

Instead of using a pole, professional fishers use equipment such as traps and nets to collect the fish that people eat. Oftentimes, this fish is sold to supermarket chains or other large corporations.

Many accidents that occur in the fishing industry involve falls from boats or other boat incidents. In addition to the risk of injury, the work of a fisherman is also incredibly physically taxing.

3. Aircraft Pilots/Flight Engineers

Aircraft pilots are in charge of navigating flights from one location to another. Flight engineers, on the other hand, are responsible for setting the plane’s systems before a flight as well as monitoring them during a flight.

As you may have guessed, most workplace-related incidents in this field involve plane crashes. Most incidents happen within the private sector.

4. Roofers

If you’re a homeowner, there’s a good chance you’ve hired a roofing contractor at some point to patch up your roof. Roofers work to both install and repair commercial and residential risks.

The biggest risk that comes with this profession is slipping and falling off of a roof. Given that they’re multiple stories above ground, these falls can often be deadly, or at the very least, result in serious injury.

In addition to being dangerous, this is another job that is also very physically taxing, as it requires climbing, bending, and heavy lifting. Plus, roofers often have to work in inclement weather conditions.

5. Recyclable Material Collectors

Working as a recyclable materials collector can also be very dangerous. In this position, workers spend much of their day driving from one location to the next to collect materials.

All of this driving increases the risk of a transportation-related incident. Recyclable materials collectors work both in the public and private sectors, and depending on their location, they may be required to work year-round regardless of weather conditions.

Most Dangerous Jobs: Did This List Surprise You?

So, did this list of most dangerous jobs surprise you, or was it about what you expected?
