The VIRA office building in Tehran shows the latest trends and amazing innovations in Iranian architecture. The building has what locals call a ‘rigid texture,’ which means that it’s made up of multiple evenly-spaced panels that look like an open fan. The primary purpose of this is to filter the light properly and ensure that the office is comfortable for workers.
However, there’s a secondary benefit to this style: it’s super easy to shift and add on to. If building owners decide that there’s a need to expand on their space, it can be multiplied both horizontally and vertically simply by adding more slats.
